Dumbledore was never the true master of the Elder Wand 🧙‍♂️

Surely I am fiddling with your brains? We all know that Dumbledore was the true master of The Elder Wand! Well, you're mistaken. Let me bring out your inner Hermione with this one, and dive deep into The Wizarding World's timeline.

We've read about Gregorovitch's memory, which confirms that Grindelwald indeed stole The Elder Wand from him sometime between 1899 and 1926. Contrary to popular belief, this wouldn't have made Grindelwald the true master of the wand, because stealing is perceived as an act of cowardice, not power. Meaning, Mykew Gregorovitch was still the true master of the Elder Wand. 

Now, no one can forget the legendary duel between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, also known as 'the greatest wizarding duel witnessed'. Dumbledore won, of course, so everyone believed that he was the true master of the Elder Wand now. HA! Those people didn't have access to Gregorovitch's memories! But, since we do, we're going to ameliorate this so-called fact.

During Voldemort's search for the Elder Wand, Harry saw through the Dark Lord's eyes and saw him murder Gregorovitch. This stunt, made Voldemort the true master of the most powerful wand in existence. Scary, right? Well, I can't believe I'm saying this, but Voldemort was right for once. He was the true master of the Elder Wand at last.

BUT. Hold your hippogriffs, this is where it gets interesting. During the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry survived Voldemort's killing curse for the second time, which shot back on the Dark Lord. Voldemort was d-e-a-d and Harry won the Elder Wand! BAAM! Dumbledore was never the true master of the Deathstick. Imagine the extraordinary magic he would be able to perform if he actually owned it.

Fun Fact: Harry Potter is the only person who survived all 3 of the unforgivable curses.
